Job summary

Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve is assisting Mentor City Local Schools by conducting an interim Treasurer search. The role centers on accounting for all public funds, managing investments, and providing strategic financial guidance in alignment with state laws and district policies.

The successful candidate will act as the Board's CFO and secretariat, maintain minutes, sign contracts with the Board President, and deliver timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Business Administration.
• Must maintain a valid ODE Treasurer's license.
• Minimum of 5 years Treasurer experience in a school district preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Board's Chief Financial Officer responsible for accounting for all receipts and expenditures of public funds in accordance with all policies and applicable laws.
• Serve as official secretary for the Board and keep accurate minutes and records of all proceedings.
• With the Board President, signs all contracts issued to staff.
• Render all financial reporting and records in a timely manner.
• Manage the investment of available monies.
• Advise the Board in all matters and prepare recommendations appropriate to fiscal management policies and procedures.
• Represent Mentor Public Schools in dealings with local districts, institutions, agencies, and the general public.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal and local laws.
• Ensure and maintain all necessary bonds and/or certificates, liability policies, etc. as required by law for all required positions, Superintendent, Treasurer and Board Members, etc.
• Delegates to other employees the power to discharge duties while retaining final responsibility.
• Attend professional growth activities.
• Fulfill any other duties as assigned by the Mentor School Board.
