Job summary

PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) seeks a Safety Support Associate for the Best Western Long Beach site to maintain a safe environment for staff, participants and visitors.

In this full-time, non-exempt role, you will monitor facilities, engage participants to support safety, and respond to crises using de-escalation and harm reduction principles, following low-barrier guidelines to help clients access needed supplies.

Qualifications

• Analytical skills to gather and interpret data and identify trends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of the interim housing site through observation and de-escalation.
• Coordinate with onsite case management to support the site.
• Coordinate with security to ensure safety of the site.
• Conduct regular rounds and report discrepancies.
• Draft written documentation on safety and security.
• Respond to security/crisis situations using non-violent interventions.
