Job summary

Amherst Regional High School seeks an Interim Assistant Principal for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-year assignment reports to the principal and works with the leadership team to support teaching and learning, student success, and a safe, welcoming school environment.

The role focuses on instructional improvement, responding to student and family concerns, addressing conduct and attendance, and coordinating school operations.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts DESE licensure as a Principal/Assistant Principal at the secondary level, or eligibility for the appropriate licensure or waiver.
• Experience supporting students, staff, and instructional practice in a secondary school.
• Commitment to equitable practices and a school culture in which all students can thrive.

Responsibilities

• The Interim Assistant Principal works with the Principal and school leadership team to support teaching and learning, student success, and a safe, welcoming school environment.
• Supports instructional improvement; responds to student and family concerns; addresses student conduct and attendance.
• Helps coordinate school operations and initiatives; supervises and evaluates teachers, clerical staff and paraeducators in accordance with District procedures.
• Specific responsibilities will be assigned by the Principal.
