Job summary

Westbrook Middle School seeks an Interim Assistant Principal to serve for the remainder of the 2026-27 school year. The role centers on instructional leadership, equity, and collaborative problem-solving to support student outcomes across grades 5–8.

The successful candidate will strengthen Tier I instruction, supervise staff development, and partner with families and communities to advance a whole-child approach. This position is governed by the Administrators' Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

• Certification by Maine, 040 or eligibility.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience; administrative experience preferred.
• Experience in instructional leadership, school improvement, student support systems, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Experience facilitating professional learning and supporting staff growth is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support school culture focused on students, inclusion, high expectations, belonging and achievement.
• Manage school-wide behavior, attendance, SEL through restorative practices.
• Lead safety and security coordination with district leaders and public safety.
• Collaborate with the principal to strengthen Tier I instruction and data-informed decisions.
• Support Communities of Practice and instructional teams with data analysis and practices.
