Job summary

Amherst Regional Middle School in Amherst is seeking an Interim Special Education English Language Arts Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Qualifications

• Must have valid MA license in special education appropriate for the grade level.
• Must have MA ELA license for the grade level or meet subject-matter requirements.
• Knowledge of IEPs, laws, regulations, and IEP implementation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver specially designed instruction aligned with students’ IEPs.
• Develop, adapt, and deliver differentiated instruction, assignments, and assessments.
• Prepare and modify instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
• Assess student work and provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Participate in IEP team meetings.
• Provide written input for IEPs, progress reports, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate and collaborate with paraeducators and general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Consult with related service providers, school counselors, and other professionals.
