Job summary

HCT Healthcare Transformation seeks an experienced nursing professional to serve as the Interim Manager, Emergency Department for a 140+ bed hospital in California. This role provides leadership support within a busy ED while collaborating with the existing ED leadership team.

Responsibilities include overseeing staffing, scheduling, performance management, and promoting patient-centered care. You will partner with the ER Director and Night Coordinator to ensure consistent operations across

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Active California RN license is required.
• BLS through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Minimum of 12 years of recent, relevant nursing/clinical leadership experience.
• Experience in Emergency Department leadership preferred.
• Strong computer skills with EMR and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide experienced nursing leadership and operational support for the Emergency Department.
• Partner closely with the ER Director and existing ED Manager to support day-to-day departmental operations.
• Collaborate with the Night Coordinator and nursing leadership to promote consistent operations across shifts.
• Support staffing, scheduling, performance management, and staff accountability as needed.
• Promote effective communication and collaboration among ED staff, providers, patients, and other hospital departments.
• Help strengthen relationships between the Emergency Department and the patients and communities it serves.
• Foster a patient-centered culture focused on service, teamwork, professionalism, and respectful communication.
