Job summary

Avardis-Health is seeking an Interim Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations at our Charlotte, NC care centers. This on-site role requires mentoring a nursing team, ensuring high-quality resident care, and upholding regulatory compliance during the interim assignment. Expect travel across facilities as needed.

The DON will supervise budgeting, staffing, and policy adherence while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote person-centered care for older adults.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of North Carolina.
• RN Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience in nursing services administration.
• Experience in a healthcare setting serving the same age/type of resident population.
• Strong knowledge of nursing management, planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards and state/federal healthcare regulations.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing nursing team.
• Compassionate, dedicated, and committed to excellence in resident care.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and leadership development to clinical staff.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Set and monitor departmental goals aligned with nursing ethics and standards of practice.
• Recruit, hire, and retain top nursing talent ensuring staffing requirements.
• Develop and implement competency/skills checklists for nursing staff, including contracted team members.
• Prepare and manage the nursing department's annual operating budget.
• Maintain current policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to promote holistic, person-centered care.
• Ensure compliance with resident rights policies and address resident grievances.
• Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance healthcare outcomes and efficiency.
