Job summary

exploreourcareeropportunities is seeking an Interim Director of Nursing (DON) in the Charlotte, NC area. This primarily on-site role involves leading nursing services, ensuring high-quality resident care, and mentoring the team during an interim assignment in an assigned facility.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staff recruitment, policy maintenance, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Some weekends and extensive travel across facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state.
• RN Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience in nursing services administration.
• Experience in a healthcare setting serving the same age/type of resident population.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and leadership development to clinical staff.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
• Set and monitor departmental goals and objectives aligned with nursing ethics and standards of practice.
• Recruit, hire, and retain top nursing talent, ensuring compliance with staffing requirements.
• Develop and implement competency/skills checklists for nursing staff, including contracted team members.
• Prepare and manage the nursing department's annual operating budget.
• Maintain current policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to promote holistic, person-centered care.
• Ensure compliance with resident rights policies and actively work to resolve resident grievances.
• Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance healthcare outcomes and operational efficiency.
