Job summary

Avardis Health seeks an Interim Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations across our Charlotte, NC area facilities. This on-site role supports resident care excellence and provides mentorship to the nursing team.

The Interim DON will oversee education, compliance, budgeting, staffing, and quality initiatives, stepping in during transitional periods and ensuring policy adherence. Travel and some weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in the state.
  • RN Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum two years of leadership experience in nursing services administration.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting serving the same age/type of resident population.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing management, planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and state/federal healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and leadership development to clinical staff.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Set and monitor departmental goals and objectives aligned with nursing ethics and standards of practice.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain top nursing talent, ensuring compliance with staffing requirements.
  • Develop and implement competency/skills checklists for nursing staff, including contracted team members.
  • Prepare and manage the nursing department's annual operating budget.
  • Maintain current policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to promote holistic, person-centered care.
  • Ensure compliance with resident rights policies and actively work to resolve resident grievances.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance healthcare outcomes and operational efficiency.

Looking for qualified Interim Director of Nursing to join our team!

Location:Charlotte, NC Area

Job Type:Full-Time - Candidates must reside in the Charlotte, NC area or within a reasonable commuting distance. This is a primarily on-site position, with approximately 95% of the work performed at one of our Care Centers. Candidate will be filling in as an interim DON/ADON or another assigned clinical roles during this interim assignment in an assigned facility. Some weekends maybe required.

Travel: Extensive travel throughout assigned facilities and markets, including overnight travel as needed.

We are seeking anInterimDirector of Nursing (DON) who is passionate about clinical excellence, leadership, and making a meaningful impact on residents' lives. As the InterimDirector of Nursing, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of resident care. You will provide education, mentorship, and leadership to the nursing team while overseeing clinical operations, compliance, and quality initiatives. In the absence of the Executive Director, you will be responsible for executing resident care policies and ensuring smooth facility operations.
