Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing Services seeks an Interim Controller to stabilize the accounting function during a leadership transition and audit period. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, consolidations, and internal controls, partnering with the CFO and cross‑functional leaders.

You will lead a 15‑person accounting team, manage multi‑entity closings, and provide technical accounting leadership while ensuring GAAP compliance and smooth external audit coordination.

Qualifications

• Significant controller-level leadership in multi-entity environments.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and reporting standards.
• Experience leading accounting teams and managing ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Onsite presence in Glen Allen for ~2–3 days/week during the transition.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting across a multi‑entity group.
• Lead month‑end close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
• Maintain internal controls and policies in line with US GAAP.
• Partner with CFO and cross‑functional leaders, including audit support.
• Direct a ~15‑person accounting department and 9 accountants.
• Coordinate with external auditors during the audit period.
