Job summary

High Country Search Group is seeking an Interim Controller for a 6-month contract in the Denver metro area. This hands-on leadership role oversees all accounting operations, including month-end close, construction job costing, WIP reporting, payroll oversight, billing, cash flow, and internal controls.

You will partner with operations and project managers to standardize financial processes during a transformational growth period for a PE-backed heavy civil construction company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as Controller/Accounting Manager.
• Construction accounting experience (heavy civil strongly preferred)
• Month-end close leadership
• Strong job costing and WIP reporting experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Viewpoint Vista experience is a major plus

I'm partnering with a rapidly growing, PE backed heavy civil construction company that is expanding through acquisitions and needs an experienced Interim Controller to help lead the finance function during a transformational period.

This is a hands‑on leadership role overseeing all accounting operations, including month‑end close, construction job costing, WIP reporting, payroll oversight, billing, cash flow, and internal controls. You'll work closely with operations and project managers while helping standardize financial processes across a growing organization.

Must-haves:
