Job summary

MGR Accounting Recruiters is assisting a well-established construction company in finding a Construction Controller to lead the accounting function and provide financial oversight for multiple projects. This is a 100% in-office role in Texas, requiring hands-on construction accounting expertise and Sage ERP proficiency.

The ideal candidate will drive budgeting, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis while ensuring strong internal controls and successful year-end audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction accounting experience.
• Strong experience managing WIP reporting.
• Hands-on Sage ERP experience is required.
• Thorough understanding of job costing and construction financial reporting.
• Experience leading accounting functions in a construction environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Manage and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Prepare and review job cost reporting, project profitability, and financial statements.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Partner with operations and project management to improve financial performance.
• Maintain internal controls and support year-end audits.

We're partnering with a well-established construction company seeking an experienced Construction Controller to lead the accounting function and provide financial oversight for multiple construction projects. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who understands the unique complexities of construction accounting and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

This is a 100% in‑office position. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

What You'll Do

• Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and month‑end close
