THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client is an established organization seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Manager to provide leadership and hands‑on support across receivables and related accounting activities. The consultant will assume responsibility for day‑to‑day execution within the function, support existing team members, maintain appropriate financial accuracy, and help address operational priorities as they arise.

This opportunity is best suited for an experienced accounting professional who can quickly assess an existing environment, work effectively with internal stakeholders, and provide both managerial and hands‑on support during an interim engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee day‑to‑day activities within the accounts receivable function.
• Provide guidance and support to team members and help maintain appropriate workflow and execution.
• Participate directly in operational accounting activities as business needs require.
• Review financial activity for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate treatment.
• Research and resolve accounting or operational issues affecting receivables.
• Maintain supporting records and assist with account‑related accounting activities.
• Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, and other internal stakeholders as needed.
• Support recurring accounting and reporting activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve consistency and efficiency of existing processes.
• Document and support practical operating procedures for the internal team.
• Assist with additional finance and accounting initiatives based on organizational priorities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant experience within accounts receivable, accounting operations, or a related accounting function.
• Prior experience operating in a supervisory, managerial, or senior‑level accounting capacity.
• Experience overseeing, reviewing, or supporting the work of other accounting professionals.
• Ability to balance team leadership with direct involvement in day‑to‑day activities.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable and general accounting principles.
• Experience reviewing financial activity and resolving accounting discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with financial information.
• Experience using accounting, ERP, or other financial systems.
• Proficiency with Excel and financial data analysis.
• Ability to independently identify issues, establish priorities, and follow matters through completion.
• Experience supporting process or workflow improvements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to step into an interim environment, learn existing processes quickly, and assume responsibility with limited ramp‑up time.
