Job summary

AquantUs, LLC in Peachtree City, GA is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accuracy of financial records, and support month-end close.

Reporting to the CFO, you will manage a small team, drive process improvements, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and serve as payroll backup for HR.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a professional setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close procedures.
• Experience with sales and use tax compliance across multiple states is preferred.
• Experience with project/construction/manufacturing accounting is a plus.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to collaborate with internal/external partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities and support audit preparations to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage account reconciliations, including bank and intercompany accounts, to maintain accurate ledger balances.
• Coordinate the submission of sales and use tax filings across multiple states, ensuring timely compliance with tax regulations.
• Assist with financial reporting and cash flow management to support effective decision-making.
• Maintain fixed assets accounting and oversee lease tracking, reconciliation, and related activities.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax agencies, and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits and reporting.
• Ensure organized financial records and strengthen internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Drive continuous improvements in internal accounting procedures and workflows.
• Supervise and support the accounting staff, delegating tasks and providing mentorship.
• Serve as payroll backup to assist the HR department when needed.
