Job summary

Piper Companies in Alaska seeks an Experienced Interdisciplinary Engineer to support facility engineering, design review, construction, and infrastructure projects across the state.

The role requires a Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Structural engineering degree, 5+ years of experience (10+ preferred), and Public Trust eligibility; expect work with HVAC, plumbing, fuel, tanks, pumps, piping, steam, and related systems.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of engineering experience; 10+ years preferred.
• Experience with mechanical systems: HVAC, Plumbing, Fuel systems, Tanks, Pumps, Piping, Steam, and related facility infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for facility repair, restoration, renovation, and new construction projects.
• Conduct technical reviews of engineering studies, reports, specifications, and design packages.
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and engineering recommendations.
• Perform facility condition assessments and field investigations.
• Review Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build project documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to project managers and stakeholders on engineering issues and solutions.
• Coordinate responses to contractor and architect/engineer requests for information.
• Support projects in challenging and remote environments throughout Alaska.
