Job summary

Bowhead seeks an Interdisciplinary Engineer to deliver civil engineering services to the US Coast Guard CEU Juneau, AK. The role covers technical reviews, planning, drawings, cost estimating, and field assessments across the D17 region.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in civil/electrical/mechanical/structural engineering, strong AutoCAD and Civil3D skills, and capability to travel for site visits and contract reviews.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years in civil/electrical/mechanical/structural engineering and a BA/BS in related field.
• Ten years of experience and an MA/MS degree in related field preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or related license highly desirable.
• Experience with design for high seismic, high-wind and coastal maritime conditions; AutoCAD drafting and Civil3D experience are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering services for CEU Juneau in support of projects on the Advanced Acquisition Plan and other inserted projects.
• Provide civil engineering trouble-shooting and/or consultations to CEU Juneau Project Managers.
• Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of professional studies, reports and analysis.
• Collaborate with managers, other engineers/architects, construction PMs, legal staff, contract specialists and contractor personnel; provide guidance on complex engineering problems and disputes.
• Provide technical reviews and review comments for project designs, including Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build.
• Provide responses for RFI and develop Scopes of Work for required contract modifications.
• Provide facility condition assessments and evaluations throughout D17.
• Travel to meet CEU Juneau staff and review contract performance; occasional travel to sites in D17 AOR Alaska Maritime Region.
