Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Specialist, Mechanical Engineer to design and document complex electromechanical interconnect assemblies at Salt Lake City, UT. You will work across disciplines to define system requirements and ensure compliance with environmental and EMI/EMC standards.

Responsibilities include cable design across RF and fiber optics, connectors, and backshells, with an emphasis on high-speed data paths. A DoD security clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, RF, Manufacturing, etc.) and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and document complex electromechanical interconnect assemblies using CAD and other PC-based design tools.
• Work with traditional multi-conductor cables, fiber optic cables, RF cables, high-speed data cables, and flex circuits.
• Define system signal requirements and review design solutions in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure cable design meets environmental, signal integrity, EMC/EMI, and manufacturing requirements.
• Be part of a cross-functional design engineering team and prepare design solutions and trade studies.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
