Job summary

Hillsdale County Intermediate School District is seeking an Intensive Support Program Paraprofessional to assist students with daily routines, 1:1 and small-group instruction, and behavioral support under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

The role emphasizes data collection, communication with staff, and maintaining safety and confidentiality, with a focus on supporting students with disabilities and ensuring consistent attendance.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform tasks that require physical strength, stamina and mobility.
• Knowledge of techniques and strategies to de-escalate tense situations and CPI certified.
• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals in person and over the phone.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist students in daily routines across classroom activities.
• Assist in collecting data and completing daily reports for progress.
• Initiate and follow through with behavioral interventions as designated by the teacher.
• Communicate student progress and concerns to teachers.
• Participate in planning meetings regarding curricular expectations and student needs.
• Assist in 1:1 or small group instruction as directed by the teacher.
