Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is actively seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Coronary Care unit at RWJ Somerset in Somerville, NJ. This part-time, day-shift role includes a 36-hour work week with rotating weekends and holidays in a fast-paced unit dedicated to cardiac care.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, document in EPIC, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while pursuing ongoing education and career advancement within RWJBarnabas Health.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferred and encouraged to complete BSN within five years.
• 1–2 years of Critical Care nursing experience.
• Experience with EMR systems (EPIC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to effective communication.
• Support ongoing professional growth through continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities.
