Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Experienced Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for transit and multimodal projects. You will integrate models across architecture, vertical and transportation structures, and MEP into a single federated, clash-checked deliverable. Strong knowledge of Autodesk tools and DOT standards is essential.

The role requires extensive coordination, model health monitoring, and mentorship across offices, with travel as needed. Based in the US with flexible office locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in CADD drafting and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience, travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design and MEP.
• Model coordination and clash detection using Navisworks; lead resolution across disciplines.
• Establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards and workflows per Autodesk/DOT criteria.
• Mentor production staff and provide design sketches for finished drawings.
• Act as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator throughout the project lifecycle.
• Crosscheck drawings for consistency with layering and QC standards.
• Provide CADD/technical support and manage model health and interoperability.
• Review manufacturers' or fabricators' prints to aid design documents.
• Develop BIM Execution Plans and advise on LOE and scope.
• Interface with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on data handoff.
