Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to support transit and multimodal projects from our US offices. You will coordinate intelligent models across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP, ensuring federated, clash-checked deliverables.

The role requires 12 years of related experience, strong Autodesk skills (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks), and the ability to mentor production staff while upholding BIM standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — serves as the firm's go-to Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for transit and multimodal projects across architecture, structures, roadway design, and MEP.
• Model coordination & clash detection — runs clash detection in Navisworks and leads resolution across disciplines.
• Standards & governance — establishes, documents, and enforces CADD/BIM standards and workflows.
• Mentorship & guidance — mentors production staff and provides design sketches for finished drawings.
• Acts as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for project lifecycle to ensure coordination between the design team.
• Performs crosscheck of drawings for consistency with guidelines and QC standards.
• Performs CADD/technical support tasks and manages model health and interoperability.
• Reviews manufacturers' prints and determines material needs as required.
• Develops BIM Execution Plans and advises on model deliverables and LOE.
