Job description

The primary purpose of this position is: to provide technical advice and guidance to the Network Warfare Support flight commander in all areas supporting Network Warfare Operations (NW Ops) mission areas. The incumbent serves as a Intelligence Specialist with the responsibility to provide guidance and expert technical advice on all matters related to the intelligence resources.

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the Professional work category are at the Full Performance work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Thorough knowledge of the concepts governing the AF, AFSPC, 24AF, 67 NWW, AFISRA, NSA, DIA, and DoD intelligence missions in support of NW Ops. Be knowledgeable of the terminologies, methodologies, and research and analytical techniques as applied to highly complex assignments in intelligence and NW Ops collection and analysis and the ability to apply facts and estimates derived from numerous sources to a variety of problems having difficult technical aspects. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

1. Knowledge of intelligence in relation to the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in various regions of the world, focusing on intelligence collection/analysis, NW Ops threat entities, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD, and other US resources.
2. Knowledge of NW Ops and US intelligence community policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence research planning, operations collection, target analysis, and other intelligence collection related activities.
3. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodologies of intelligence analysis and research to include link analysis and database manipulation.
4. Skill in producing finished intelligence reports and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of customers to include formulating and conducting original research; collating, organizing, and analyzing information; resolving conflicts; and presenting clear and concise findings.
5. Skill in handling classified data in accordance with established DoD procedures.
6. Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data and render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implications of such data; and to apply facts and estimates derived from numerous sources to a variety of problems having different technical aspects.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:

Position is designated Special-sensitive and incumbent requires a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TOP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive position presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. The incumbent may be required to perform temporary duty (TDY)within and outside the United States; travel by military and/or commercial transportation; and to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support the squadron's mission. Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyance in accordance with Joint Travel regulations may be required in performance of temporary duty. While every effort will be made to schedule the TOY well in advance of the travel, travel may be required with limited notice. It is imperative incumbent have an unlimited ability to perform such travel. This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations.
