Job summary

Air Force Civilian Service seeks an Intelligence Specialist (GG-0132-13) to join HQ ACC, A2, for leadership in Data and Object Governance and related policy development. The role requires managing compliance with ODNI/DoD/AF directives, guiding data interoperability, and supporting automation, AI/ML initiatives in a joint warfighting context.

Based at Langley–Eustis, VA, the position carries a TS/SCI eligibility requirement, a drug-testing designation, and security safeguards; moving expenses

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to SCI.
  • Must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
  • Subject to psychological screening and polygraph testing.

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Intelligence Specialist (GG-0132-13) to work at Headquarters Air Combat Command (HQ ACC), Directorate of Intelligence (A2), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (A29), at Joint Base (JB) Langley – Eustis, Hampton, Virginia.

Moving expenses may be paid.

Salary: $108,019 -- $140,426 per year based on experience.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.

Qualifications/Requirements

In this role, you will serve as the senior specialist for Data and Object Governance, Standards and Strategies. Direct and advise on compliance with Office of the Director of Intelligence (ODNI), Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force (AF) legal and policy requirements for ISR data and object, as well as processes or policies that have the weight of law. Develop and oversee implementation of policies, standards, and strategies for the use, sharing or reuse of data and objects, and data/object services for automation, artificial intelligence/machine learning and modern management practices advancing data and object interoperability for joint warfighting effects with mission partners.

  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Top Secret” security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Must sign a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Subject to psychological screening and polygraph testing.

Required Core Competencies

  • Research & Collection: Knowledge of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data and Order of Battle Production (OPB) information to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities, new hypotheses and theories, and threat assessments.
  • Governance & Standards: Knowledge of Agency, Air Force, DoD, ODNI, and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).
  • Enterprise Structure: Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations.
  • Information Integration: Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage ACC capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients.
  • Operational Decisions: Ability to maintain control of classified material; quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data; make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment and experience; and present and/or defend a position effectively.

Highly Desired

  • An advanced intelligence-related, professional, or scientific degree.
  • Experience navigating the defense resourcing lifecycle using Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) and Program Objective Memorandum (POM).
