Job summary

Skadden’s Intellectual Property Litigation team in Palo Alto is seeking outstanding lateral candidates (class of 2023 – 2022) with strong patent and/or general IP litigation experience, a technical background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics. The starting base salary for this position is expected to be between $260,000 to $310,000 annually.

Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.

Qualifications

• Active member of the California bar.
• Strong patent and/or IP litigation experience.
• Technical background in CS, EE, or Physics.
• Experience from a peer firm preferred.
• U.S. PTO registration a plus.

Lateral Associate

Skadden’s Intellectual Property Litigation team in Palo Alto is seeking outstanding lateral candidates (class of 2023 – 2022) with strong patent and/or general IP litigation experience, a technical background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in complex technology disputes, particularly in emerging areas at the intersection of IP and artificial intelligence, and comfortable navigating novel legal questions where precedent is still developing. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to engage directly with sophisticated technology clients on high-stakes matters are essential. High level of academic achievement and experience from a peer firm are preferred qualifications. Must be an active member of the California bar and have an ability to work effectively as part of a team across offices and practice areas. U.S. P.T.O. registration is a plus. The starting base salary for this position is expected to be between $260,000 to $310,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law. This position may be eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.
