Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Richmond, VA seeks an Integrated Systems Service Technician to service and support a range of fire protection and security systems. You will install, test, and repair fire alarm, intrusion, access control, CCTV, and related technologies while providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience servicing fire alarm, security, camera, access control, or similar systems.
• Proficient at following written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail.
• Able to read plans, documents, meters, and discern safety signage colors.
• Desirable NICET I/II or Avigilon certification.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair security, camera, access control, suppression, and fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and false alarms.
• Program multiple system types and test for proper operation.
• Consult with clients on system issues and provide repair recommendations.
• Use blueprints or plans to determine installation scope based on building layout.
• Run wiring, install hardware, and connect electrical wires.
• Inspect systems, batteries, and wiring; perform adjustments and repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA fire codes.
• Explain system operation to end users.
• Be on call as required.
• Serve as first point of contact for technical support via phone or email.
