Qualifications

• Must hold Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsement.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations regarding IEPs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, parents and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional and consultative services to eligible students as per IEP.
• Attend IEP-Team meetings to assist in determinations and placement decisions.
• Advise general education teachers on transition to Kindergarten for students with disabilities.
• Conduct required student assessments per Federal/State/Local regulations.
• Administer data gathering assessments to guide instruction and progress discussions.
• Develop and maintain student IEPs and required documentation.
• Manage day-to-day classroom operations.
• Plan curriculum and prepare lessons considering individual needs and abilities.
• Maintain a disciplined, welcoming classroom environment.
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
• Maintain endorsements, licensure and ongoing professional development.
