Job summary

Murfreesboro City Schools is seeking a Comprehensive Development Teacher in the Special Education Department. The role requires a TN teaching license with appropriate endorsements and successful experience with students with disabilities.

Responsibilities include direct instructional services, IEP participation, collaboration with general education staff, and ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

• Holds Tennessee teaching license with endorsements.
• B.S. in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations for special education.
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional/services to eligible students with disabilities per IEP.
• Attend IEP-Team meetings.
• Advise general education teachers on needs of students with disabilities.
• Conduct required student assessments per regulations.
• Lead data gathering and discuss results with staff/parents.
• Develop and maintain IEPs and documentation.
• Manage day-to-day classroom operations.
• Plan curriculum and prepare lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Maintain a disciplined, orderly classroom environment.
• Participate in meetings and professional development activities.
• Maintain endorsements, licensure and ongoing training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
