Job summary

True North Recovery Inc. in Anchorage, AK seeks a licensed clinical professional to perform integrated substance use and mental health assessments in an outpatient setting.

You will diagnose using DSM-5-TR criteria, coordinate electronic health records, and coordinate referrals within a supportive clinical team. Ideal candidates hold a Master's in counseling, with CDC II eligibility within 3 years, and prior assessment experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or related field.
• CDC II or higher preferred; BHC II or combination of experience, credentials and education.
• Must be able to obtain CDC II within 3 years of hire.
• Experience in conducting assessments is preferred.
• Experience and knowledge in substance abuse and mental health field.

Responsibilities

• Performs integrated substance use and mental health assessments and diagnoses using DSM-5-TR criteria.
• Ensures assessments are reviewed by supervisors when not independently licensed.
• Recommends placement into appropriate level of care after assessment.
• Informs referral source of assessment outcomes and treatment recommendations.
• Maintains confidential, accurate electronic health records for each client.
• Adheres to documentation deadlines and program policies.
• Assists with intake documentation and consent processes.
• Orients clients to facility and services, including hours and rules.
• Uses standard forms to assess client strengths and needs.
• Gathers information for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning.
• Coordinates service delivery and advocates for access to resources.
• Becomes proficient with True North Recovery’s treatment philosophy.
• Maintains familiarity with community resources and referral confidentiality.
• Participates in case reviews and supervision when needed.
• Identifies program needs and suggests improvements.
• Manages time and workload effectively.
