Job summary

Advisacare Home Health and Hospice in Lansing is seeking a full-time Intake Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on collecting benefit information, securing initial authorization, and coordinating patient liability before care begins, using the Kinnser EMR.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, documenting payor details, scheduling clinical staff after verification, and assisting with billing tasks. High attention to detail and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medicare
• Knowledge of insurance websites such as Web Denis, etc.
• Knowledge of Kinnser Agency Manager is preferred
• Conscientious with attention to detail
• Demonstrates patience, flexibility and cooperative attitude
• Effective verbal and written communication with others

Responsibilities

• Obtain detailed and accurate benefit information from insurers and websites
• Document payor information in Kinnser accurately
• Record benefits, deductibles and out-of-pocket max
• Obtain start of care authorization for managed care cases
• Verify Medicare eligibility and insurance at recertification
• Schedule clinical staff after insurance verification
• Assist billing with duties as needed
• Think critically and work independently
