Job summary

Met Council in Brooklyn, NY seeks an Intake Specialist to work with clients facing poverty. You will conduct intakes, assess needs, and develop goal-oriented plans while providing referrals and case management.

The role requires Fluent English with strong organizational skills and familiarity with public benefits. Office-based with occasional meetings, trainings, and community events in Brooklyn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of government entitlements and resources.
• Social services work experience.
• Excellent computer literacy and word processing skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, assess clients for needed services, and develop goal-oriented plans.
• Conduct in-person and remote intakes; input data into EMR.
• Provide case management and assist with public benefits applications.
• Coordinate with partner agencies and staff; maintain documentation in SalesForce.
• Attend trainings and represent the agency at meetings.
