Job summary

The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place in Williamsburg, Virginia, is seeking an Intake RN to manage admissions and intake operations, including screening, insurance verification, and coordination with the admissions team.

The RN will collaborate with medical and psychiatric staff, initiate assessments, document symptoms, and ensure proper level of care while adhering to hospital protocols and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• One or more years of experience in mental health or substance use disorder admissions preferred.
• Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, referral, treatment planning, and communicating with external review organizations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients, documenting symptoms, functioning and needs.
• Collaborates with medical and psychiatric staff to ensure appropriate admissions and communicates projected admissions.
• Provides coverage for the Call Center Team, verifies insurance, and assists with pre-certifications during high volume.
• Gathers admission documentation from external sources and secures initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
• Reviews patient charts to determine medical necessity and coordinates orders and DSM-V diagnoses with physicians.
