Job summary

Southridge Behavioral Hospital, a joint venture with Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, seeks an Intake RN to perform telephonic and in-person risk assessments and coordinate the intake process with referrals and families.

Part-time daytime schedule, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m., with weekend rotation. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and Michigan RN license; psychiatric health-care experience of at least 3 years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Michigan RN license is required.
• Three years of psychiatric health-care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment to guide level of care.
• Coordinate the referral and intake process with sources and families.
• Facilitate admission and communicate with referral sources, families and staff.
• Collaborate with Business Office on patient financial data and insurance benefits.
• Work with UR for certification of admitted patients.

Position Description

The Intake RN, under the supervision of the Intake Director, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake RN is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.

Hours and Location

Part Time, 7am to 7:30pm for Day shift. Weekend rotation required.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing required.

Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

License: Registered Nurse RN license issued by the State of Michigan required.
