Job summary

Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County in Bloomington, Minnesota, is seeking an Intake & Referral Specialist for the Energy Assistance Program (EAP). The role provides excellent customer service, assists applicants with EAP applications, and guides energy emergency situations, via in-person and phone interactions.

You will conduct interviews to determine eligibility, refer to CAP-HC programs, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Manages inbound and outbound calls to educate callers about the Energy Assistance Program (EAP).
• Conducts phone interviews with callers to determine eligibility and provides referrals to community resources.
• Maintains knowledge of EAP information management and telephone systems.
• Meets with applicants in person and assists with completing applications.
• Acts as liaison between applicants and EAP Eligibility Specialists.
• Performs data entry and record keeping in program data systems.
• Responds to inquiries through various channels in a prompt, professional manner.
• Refers EAP applicants to other CAP-HC programs.
• Attends CAP-HC meetings, activities, and training.
• Supports CAP-HC's mission, vision, code of ethics and strategic plan.
