Job summary

The Healing Place in Campbellsville, KY is seeking a Medical Assistant/Intake Clerk to support a busy health care team. The role blends administrative and clinical tasks, handling intake paperwork, demographics and insurance details, and coordinating admissions for the Safe Haven Unit.

You will review medical history for program eligibility, arrange referrals, manage data in KOMS and other systems, and ensure DOC requirements and Recovery Kentucky guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Medical Assistant or CMA certification (LPN preferred).
• Minimum one year of customer service experience preferred.
• Certified in DOC Portal curriculum or ability to become certified within 3 months.
• Computer and clerical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel or ability to become proficient.
• Experience working with a treatment facility in detox, residential, partial and/or IOP preferred.
• A valid Driver’s License.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Intake processes and paperwork to ensure compliance with Recovery Kentucky guidelines.
• Review client medical history to determine program eligibility.
• Coordinate medical services with community referrals.
• Oversee referrals/appointments to outside providers and ensure CPR/First Aid trainings are met.
• Manage Department of Corrections data and data entry into KOMS.
• Ensure DOC compliance and assist with DOC inspections and meetings.
• Collect demographic and insurance information and update registration systems.
• Handle after-hours calls only in emergencies and maintain documentation.
