Job summary

Fairmount Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking an Intake Counselor to assess patients and inquiry callers under the Director of Admissions. The role interfaces with the Business Office for financial data and with the UR Department for patient certification.

You will initiate referrals, communicate with referral sources, and contribute to a patient-centered admission process within a supportive, diverse team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Licensed/credentialed social worker or counselor licensure preferred (e.g., MSW, LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT).
• 3–5 years of direct clinical experience in psychiatric or mental health settings.

Responsibilities

• Interview and assess potential patients and inquiry callers.
• Collaborate with Business Office on patient financial data.
• Coordinate with UR Department for patient certification.
• Initiate referral processes when indicated; communicate with referral sources.
