Job summary

Kingwood Pines Hospital, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), is seeking an Intake Coordinator to assist in receiving, scheduling, and referring inquiry calls. The role supports counselors, coordinators, and the director by coordinating assessments, initiating intake paperwork, and collecting insurance information for a smooth admission flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related experience; psychiatric healthcare experience preferred.
• CPR, Handle With Care and Verbal De-Escalation training (on-site training possible).
• Current TX Driver's License.
• Schedule: PRN.
• Must attend full hospital orientation: Week 1, M-F 8 AM - 5 PM.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and processes patient assessment; handles inquiry calls immediately.
• Ensures intake form contains all required information; facilitates referrals to outpatient services.
• Maintains communication with AHP, physicians’ offices and referral sources.
• Other duties as assigned.

Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Position Summary

The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the process of receiving, scheduling and/or referring inquiry calls; assists the Counselors, Coordinators and Director with coordinating assessments, initiating Intake paperwork and insurance information; working with Admissions Clerk/Receptionist to ensure smooth transition into the admission process.

• Coordinates and processes patient assessment. Handles Inquiry calls immediately.
• Assures that all required information is placed on the intake form. Facilitate referrals to outpatient services.
• Maintains communication with AHP, physician’s offices and referral sources.
• Other job duties as assigned
