Job summary

Clarion County is seeking a Caseworker II – Intake to perform intake assessments for county human service programs and to provide daytime and after-hours coverage for protective services.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with related social sciences credits, a PA driver’s license, and completion of required clearances. The position offers a sign-on bonus and a potential one-day work-from-home option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Pennsylvania driver's license required.
• Clearances under Act 34, Act 151 and FBI must be obtained prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake or assessment interviews to determine immediate needs of children and families.
• Provide crisis or supportive counseling to stabilize children and families.
• Provide walk-in, telephone, and mobile crisis intervention services to children and families.
• Investigate allegations of abuse, assess risk, assure safety, and make referrals for treatment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records; attend court hearings and write reports as needed.
• Assist individuals in arranging transportation and make home visits when required.
