Houston Methodist is seeking a Point of Entry (POE) RN to facilitate patient entry and admission placement. The role focuses on coordinating patient flow, bed utilization, and collaboration with the interprofessional care team to ensure safe, cost-effective placement within covered benefits.

The POE nurse will work with ED and case management to optimize throughput and ensure clinically appropriate admissions across campus, maintaining high quality, compassionate care while supporting resource

Competenze

• RN license in Texas (required) or eligible for licensure
• Two years as an RN in an acute care hospital setting
• Bed placement experience highly preferred

• Collaborates with ED staff, physicians, case managers to streamline patient entry and admission placement.
• Oversees patient flow and bed utilization with timely communication to units and transfer centers.
• Evaluates admissions for medical necessity and appropriate level of care.
