Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking an RN with 3 years of acute care experience to coordinate patient placement in the Patient Flow Center. The role supports bed assignment, admissions, and efficient patient flow across the system.

The RN will work 10A-6P, report to the Manager of the Patient Flow Center, and require strong clinical assessment, computer literacy, and knowledge of electronic health records. This is a part-time position at Memorial Hermann Tower.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Associate Degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing.

Responsibilities

• Direct patients to the most appropriate level of care and unit assignment with clear communication across the system.
• Organize placement process to meet patient load and minimize bed delays.
• Coordinate admission reviews and ensure bed placement aligns with physician orders.
• Apply nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for incoming patients.
• Monitor bed availability and patient flow using hospital tracking systems.
• Facilitate coordination with physicians, RNs, and other departments to optimize outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with COBRA/EMTALA and hospital policies.
