Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking an Intake & Authorization Coordinator to support home health and hospice ministries. This in-office role handles intake calls, referrals, insurance authorizations, and admission processes, ensuring a smooth patient experience while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

The position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and experience with EMR systems; a relevant associate degree or equivalent is preferred, with travel limited to inter-site

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in admissions, authorization, or administrative work preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR and healthcare systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer intake calls with urgency and professionalism.
• Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and admission details for a fast start of care.
• Enter patient information into EMR accurately and maintain records.
• Assemble start-of-care packets and communicate with patients about costs.
• Support payer verification and time-sensitive documentation processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with laws and regulations.
