Job description

In this rewarding role as an Intake and Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for performing all tasks and communication related to the intake of patient information concerning the service of durable medical equipment and respiratory products and supplies with patients/clients, healthcare practitioners, and referral sources as it relates to patient services and third-party reimbursement. Your strong assessment skills, attention to detail, and your ability to communicate effectively will be essential to this role. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team.

What will you do in this role?

  • Answer phone calls
  • Assist patients over the phone and face to face
  • Take and enter orders from physicians and facilities
  • Verify eligibility and insurance benefits/coverage
  • Discuss financials
  • Determine additional equipment needs of patients
  • Process invoices and reports

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to type 55wpm
  • Experience with add-on selling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience working in healthcare, home health, or the medical field preferred
