Job description

In this rewarding role as an Intake and Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for performing tasks and communication related to the intake of patient information concerning durable medical equipment and respiratory products and supplies. You will liaise with patients/clients, healthcare practitioners, and referral sources regarding patient services and third-party reimbursement. Strong assessment skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answering phone calls
  • Assisting patients both over the phone and face-to-face
  • Taking and entering orders from physicians and facilities
  • Verifying eligibility and insurance benefits/coverage
  • Discussing financial aspects
  • Determining additional equipment needs of patients
  • Processing invoices and reports

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to type at least 55 WPM
  • Experience with add-on selling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in healthcare, home health, or medical fields
