Job summary

Chord Specialty Dental Partners is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist to confirm coverage for patients before services in a family-friendly dental setting in the United States. You will verify insurance details, communicate copays and deductibles to families, coordinate with front desk staff, and educate parents on coverage issues.

You will add new coverages into the system, notify offices of cancellations, and ensure data accuracy across records.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year of experience in a hospital or medical/dental office setting.
• Excellent people handling and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• A high degree of accuracy in obtaining and recording information; computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Contact the insurance companies to verify coverage and the need for a prior authorization
• Maintain an open line of communication with the front desk staff to ensure patient charts are up to date with correct insurance information prior to the scheduled appointment
• Educate the parents to contact their insurance company if the carrier states it’s not a covered benefit or to ensure they have an advocate to obtain timely payments for the center prior to date of service
• Add new coverages into the system
• Alert offices when appointments need to be cancelled
• Call parents to obtain new coverages
• Verify scheduled appointments
• Ensure that all existing data and coverage tables are accurate
• Enter the patients’ insurance information accurately in the computer system.
• Greet the public with a sense of warmth, compassion and pride and see to the needs of the patients and families.
• Inform patient of self-pay rates due in the event the insurance company is out of network for the facility
• All other duties as deemed appropriate
