Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based system serving a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH seeks a detail-oriented team member to verify insurance coverage, assist patients with access, and coordinate information with case management and billing.

Required education includes a high school diploma; an associate degree in medical terminology or health care management is preferred. Prior hospital or patient access experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; experience considered in lieu of education.
• Associate degree in medical terminology or health care management preferred.
• One year of experience in reception, customer service, and/or record keeping required.
• Experience in patient access, billing, cash collections, insurance, and pre-certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures patients have correct insurance plan, policy number, and authorization.
• Uses excellent customer service when interacting with offices, payers, and patients.
• Communicates financial and insurance information to Case Management, Utilization Management, and Financial Counseling.
• Performs functions following facility policies and standards.
