Job summary

AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams in placing life insurance policies and ongoing servicing. You will interact with internal and external customers to gather requirements, review for completeness, and submit to carriers and lenders.

Responsibilities include tracking exams, updating Salesforce Chatter, and ensuring timely completion. Candidates should have at least three years of life insurance underwriting support experience, proficiency

Qualifications

• Life insurance underwriting support experience is required.
• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts.
• Monitor each case during underwriting and communicate timelines; escalate issues as needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies.
• Download application kits and populate information for Case Manager review.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Maintain underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence.
