Job summary

Progyny is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to drive statutory financial reporting, NAIC filings, and insurance-related accounting for its insurance operations. You will report to the Director of Financial Reporting and collaborate with the accounting team to support monthly closes.

The role requires hands-on experience with statutory accounting, NAIC reporting, and GAAP-to-statutory conversions, across multiple entities. A strong communication style and regulatory acumen are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• At least five years in insurance accounting or statutory reporting.
• Experience with NAIC filings and state regulatory submissions.
• Solid knowledge of statutory accounting principles and GAAP-to-statutory conversions.

Responsibilities

• Help build and scale the statutory accounting and financial reporting processes for Progyny's insurance operations.
• Own the preparation, review, and timely submission of quarterly and annual NAIC statutory financial statements and related filings.
• Manage statutory reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions; develop GAAP-to-statutory conversions and support documentation.
• Lead monthly and quarterly close activities for insurance entities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of insurance regulatory applications, amendments, and licensing-related financial documentation.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders on regulatory approvals and filings.
• Monitor NAIC guidance and regulatory requirements to assess impacts on reporting processes.
• Document technical accounting conclusions with clear memoranda and guidance.
• Support management reporting, board materials, and risk-based capital analyses.
