Job summary

Gulf States Financial Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Accountant, Statutory Reporting to own statutory and financial compliance reporting for its insurance entities, reporting to the Director of Accounting & Reporting.

The role requires deep knowledge of SAP, NAIC guidelines, and coordination with auditors and regulators. You will manage monthly close entries on US GAAP and SAP basis, including investment accounting, Schedule P/F, and RBC calculations, while supporting the broader accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in preparing NAIC quarterly/annual statements for a property and casualty insurance company is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of statutory accounting principles, including SSAPs and NAIC financial statement reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with insurance financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in compliance with NAIC requirements.
• Ensure SAP compliance and align financial reporting with regulatory requirements.
• Perform investment accounting and prepare statutory investment reporting.
• Prepare Schedule P, Schedule F, and other NAIC‑required schedules.
• Coordinate responses to inquiries from state insurance departments and external auditors.
