Farmers Insurance | Ben Smith Agency in San Diego, CA is looking for an Agent in Training to join our team. This entry-level sales role focuses on building relationships, qualifying needs, and guiding clients to suitable Auto, Home, Life, and Business insurance solutions.

You will receive structured onboarding, hands-on coaching, and access to agency systems as you develop insurance knowledge and sales skills. A strong sales background and drive for advancement are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to work toward goals and measurable performance expectations.
• Confident and professional communication skills.
• Comfortable with frequent outbound phone calls and consistent follow-up.
• Ability to build rapport and establish trust with prospective customers.
• Self-motivated, competitive, and persistent.
• Coachable and receptive to feedback.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Property & Casualty license preferred, or willingness to obtain the required licensing.

Responsibilities

• Connect with prospective customers through agency leads, referrals, phone outreach, and other prospecting efforts.
• Ask questions to understand each customer's needs, priorities, and current coverage.
• Prepare quotes and recommend Auto, Home, Life, Business, and other insurance solutions.
• Follow up consistently with leads and manage an active sales pipeline.
• Confidently ask for the sale and work through customer questions and objections.
• Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products and coverage.
• Work toward individual production goals and contribute to overall agency growth.
• Track leads, customer conversations, and follow-up activity using agency systems.
• Participate in ongoing sales coaching, product training, and professional development.
