Job summary

North Carolina Department of Insurance is seeking a regulatory analyst to provide technical expertise in the Agent Services Division. The role investigates complaints, analyzes licensing issues, and coordinates with state agencies on regulatory actions.

Strong knowledge of statutes, excellent communication, and a bachelor’s degree are required. The position offers a hybrid schedule with some remote work and a competitive salary range of $60,881–$65,000, plus state benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or economics with relevant experience.
• Experience in policy, rate examinations, underwriting, or financial/marketing analysis.
• Knowledge of statutes and administrative codes governing insurance licensing.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret NC General Statutes and administrative rules.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints and apply applicable statutes and rules.
• Provide timely written responses to licensees and the public.
• Support licensing and regulatory inquiries across divisions.
• Assist with regulatory actions and administrative hearings.
• Maintain accurate case records and comply with filing protocols.
