Job summary

State of North Carolina is seeking an Insurance Regulatory Analyst I (NS) in the Department of Insurance. The role provides regulatory oversight within the Agent Services Division, researching complaints, interpreting statutes, and recommending actions to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities include investigating complaints, coordinating with licensees and the Attorney General’s Office, and supporting licensing and regulatory projects. Hybrid telework is available with required office presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or economics or related program.
• Ability to read and understand insurance policies and statutes.
• Experience analyzing regulatory matters and responding to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints by gathering relevant facts and applying applicable statutes and rules.
• Communicate promptly with licensees and complainants with timely written responses.
• Manage inquiries, document case information, and maintain system entries.
• Provide high-quality customer service across channels and support licensing activities.
• Prepare materials for regulatory actions and coordinate with other offices as needed.
